The first year of the conference "PhD meeting 2019" organized by the Institute of Experimental Medicine of the CAS took place between the 3rd and 5th of June. An organizing committee composed of doctoral students of the Institute set up the program of the conference and also invited external speakers.
The conference was commenced by Mgr. Martin Horák, Ph.D., Head of the Department of Neurochemistry, who presented the results of a survey among students. Director Ing. Miroslava Anděrová presented the Institute's current vision and Head of the Department of Developmental Biology RNDr. Ondřej Machoň Ph.D. gave a presentation on the possibilities of post doctoral education. Among the invited speakers was the director of Bioinova, s.r.o. MUDr. Peter Bauer, PhD., who spoke about the differences between the academic and commercial spheres of science.
